Köprü: The Chicago-Kavar Pen Pal Project.
This book compiles pen pal letters from students in Uptown Chicago at Christopher House to the village of Tokaçli in the Kavar Region of Southeastern Turkey. Implemented and with text by Allison Lowe-Fotos, Bridget Murphy, and Nurcan Basal, I archived the students’ many letters, photos and art that they sent to one another as a means of learning about other cultures and making lasting friendships beyond cultural borders. Text in English and Turkish.
